Yoga is a practice that promotes the union and balance of body, mind and spirit. Physical exercises called asanas are performed and certain positions are held to strengthen the body and allow the mind to quiet down. A fundamental aspect of yoga is the breath, which is why breathing techniques are practiced that bring harmony and have immediate benefits at the physical level as well.
Goal: through asanas and breathing techniques we bring body and mind into contact, not letting ourselves be overwhelmed by the constant and uncontrolled activity of thoughts, but becoming impartial observers. Yoga positions and breathing techniques aim to release physical and mental tension, strengthen the body and eliminate blockages and tension caused by bad habits and a disharmonious lifestyle. It is a practice that aims to create space, to quiet the mind, to allow for subtler listening and a more conscious presence in the here and now.
Who it is for: it is a practice suitable for all ages and any physical condition. It is particularly recommended for those who feel overwhelmed by the hectic pace of daily life, for those who suffer from insomnia or mental hyperactivity, for those with sedentary jobs who adopt postures that over time create imbalances or chronic pain, for those who suffer from anxiety, and for those with respiratory problems.
Why participate:
– you will become aware of your breath, increasing your breathing capacity
– you will learn techniques that you can also practice at home on your own
– you will gradually feel your body become more flexible, strong, energetic
– you will learn to listen more deeply to the signals your body gives you
– through practice you will learn not to judge your limits, to accept them and overcome them step by step through breath, listening, consistency and willpower
– it will allow you to approach a bodily practice that moves away from the common idea of performance or perfection, towards respect and the gradual achievement of your own goals, with an attitude of gratitude and respect towards yourself
