REIKI was born in the late 1800s, the work of a pastor and rector of the Doshisha Theological University in Kyoto named MIKAO USUI. When his students challenged him to demonstrate the miracles and healing powers of Jesus Christ, Mikao Usui, giving up his role as a Theology professor, left to study at a Christian university in Chicago, where he became a Doctor of Theology. But having obtained no results from his research into what he was seeking regarding healing through the laying on of hands, he returned to Japan, where, after several years, he discovered in a Buddhist monastery an ancient manuscript containing the ancient teachings concerning it. In the years that followed, during a particularly intense meditation alone on a mountain, he reached a deep state of ascesis, through which the secret symbols of Reiki were revealed to him!
REIKI is, therefore, an energetic – and spiritual – practice that allows for a kind of “healing” through the laying on of hands, through which our body becomes a channel of Universal Vital Energy.
It represents the fusion of REI (meaning SPIRIT or SOUL), which is Universal Vital Energy, and KI, which derives from the Chinese QI (meaning INDIVIDUALIZED VITAL ENERGY THAT MOVES, NOURISHES, AND GIVES SHAPE TO EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS). Ultimately it is that FORCE THAT CREATES AND SUSTAINS EVERY FORM OF LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE. It is nothing other than the very same force found in all traditions of every era, even though known by different names! KI of the Tibetans and the Japanese, CHI of the Chinese, JESOD of the Hebrew Kabbalah, HOLY SPIRIT of Christianity and Catholicism, PRANA of the Hindus, and the Alchemists call it the HEALING FORCE OF NATURE.
This Energy IS Superintelligent and adapts by itself to the needs of the person being treated, without the practitioner needing to intervene in any way other than to operate with Love, in the freest way possible and free from judgments, expectations, and conditioning. Everything is Vibration, therefore Everything is Life; we could say Informed and Superintelligent Vital Energy that CREATES! If we consider the Unified Field of Pure Intelligence, or Morphogenetic Field, which creates everything according to Its Need so that the so-called COSMIC BALANCE can endure and continually manifest itself as REI, then KI IS a manifestation of It within us and within everything that lives.
In order to concentrate and manifest itself, Energy needs a structure, and therefore uses the human body as a “channel.” Each of us is born as an open channel between the material world and Universal Creative Vital Energy, but then, with growth and various forms of education, indoctrination, and programming, this channel closes, wholly or in part! Through various ATTUNEMENTS and continuous DAILY SELF-TREATMENT, this channel is once again freed and made to flow.
Healing through the laying on of hands is perhaps the oldest therapeutic form there is, but in truth “no one heals anyone,” also because illness does not exist as we understand it. REIKI works to rebalance the natural Vital Energy of every human being by dissolving “energetic blocks.” What REIKI allows is “helping us become what we truly are”: by purifying ourselves of energetic imbalances, we can become the best version of ourselves. By rebalancing the various currents of Energy in the subtle bodies before the physical body, it allows for a restoration of the functioning of all the organs, facilitating the elimination of toxins.
A REIKI TREATMENT CONSISTS NOT SO MUCH IN DOING SOMETHING AS IN BEING SOMETHING
One’s own Consciousness is transmitted through our Essence, our Thought, our Words, our Body, and our Hands. Truth is One! The paths to reach it are many. Truth is what allows us to overcome the disharmony that separates us from the Consciousness of Unity. When we experience positive emotions such as Gratitude, Compassion, and total Acceptance of What Is for at least 3 minutes, our Heart produces an Electromagnetic Field 5000 times stronger than the one emitted by our brain, and this field permeates our entire body. The lower frequency always tunes into the higher one, so the brain synchronizes with the frequency of the Heart, creating what is known as Heart-Brain Coherence. When we are in this state of Coherence, the electromagnetic field generated is measurable from 2 to 4 meters away around us! In this state of Coherence our body (that is, the Heart and Brain specifically) emanates a frequency of around 8 Hz, very close to that of Mother Earth (7.83)
